NGO Repubblika has written to the police commissioner Angelo Gafa to take legal steps against seven persons who were named as being involved in the driving test racket.

Referring to a story published in Sunday Times, Repubblika president Robert Aquilina insisted that the police take steps against them, saying that the police has had evidence of their crime for two years but has as yet failed to proceed against them.

If the police fail to do so, the letter said, the NGO will take legal steps against the commissioner.

The letter was signed by lawyer Jason Azzopardi.

The seven are:

2.     Pierre Montebello, head of Transport Malta’s land transport directorate

3.     Rachel Debono, former PA to Transport Malta’s chairman and now secretary to Prime Minister Robert Abela

4.     Ray Mizzi, former OPM customer care official and canvassar for Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon

5.     Michael Buhagiar, chief of staff to Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri

6.     Glorianne Micallef Portelli, person of trust within Ian Borg’s secretariat

7.     Antonella Agius Micallef, person of trust within Ian Borg’s secretariat
