The Nationalist Party has called a national protest that will take place outside Castille on Sunday following the latest court judgement regarding Steward Health Care.

On Monday, the Court of Appeal dismissed Steward Health Care's appeal against the decision to annul the hospitals privatisation deal.

"The next step is to bring back the €400 million that the government gave to those who did nothing with our hospitals," Grech said in a Facebook post.

Right after the judgement was delivered, exiting the court on Monday morning, PN MP Adrian Delia said that government must take immediate steps to shoulder responsibility and return the €400 million it gave to Steward Healthcare in the hospitals privatisation deal.

The only amendment to the February judgement was that the costs of the case were to be shared by the Government and Steward Healthcare, and not borne by Steward Health Care alone, as the sentence confirmed "collusion" among the two, he said.

Delia said that as the sentence was read out, it was clearly said that the fraud was not committed by one side only, being Stewards, but in collusion with government. He said that government cannot now say that it did not commit fraud.

"What will happen next? I do not know a single democratic country where steps were not immediately taken after such a sentence, and that responsibility must be shouldered from the higher ups in leadership," Delia said.

He said that government has the obligation to bring back the €400 million from taxpayers' money, as they are not of any party, but were taken from families and businesses.

"With responsibility, you must do everything to bring these €400 million back," Delia said.

Delia said that yesterday was the eighth anniversary of when former Minister Konrad Mizzi signed the hospital contracts, days after the Panama companies were opened.

He appealed for the public to unite with the PN to protest against what he called the biggest fraud which has been perpetuated on the Maltese and Gozitan public.

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said that the fight Delia started as PN leader has not stopped today, but has opened a road for the PN to continue insisting for responsibility to be shouldered.

"The time has ended where we come to court and win cases, then government shrugs it off its shoulder. The highest Court in the country has said that there was collusion between Vitals and government," Grech said.

He continued that the Court said that only in the appeal did government begin defending the public's interest, and what it did went against the public.

"This victory cannot be a victory for nothing. The public, till today, still does not have its hospitals, and till today, millions are still being stolen," Grech said.

He said that Delia and himself had filed a judicial protest last year, warning government that if it continues giving money to Vitals, knowing that there was fraud, then this would be done with bad intentions.

Grech said that despite this, government continued to give Stewards money, nearing €90 million.

"The public has the right to insist that those €400 million come back to the public. It is only Prime Minister Robert Abela who can open this case. We promised him support, but he did not welcome this. Abela does not have the courage to bring to court those who with him, and before him, stole €400 million from the public," Grech said.

He said that the PN, after this historic victory, will be stricter on its actions, and continue to insist for action and responsibility, and for the money to be returned to the public.
