A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital after suffering injuries in a motorcycle crash on Sunday morning.

Police said that the man, who is from San Gwann, suffered grievous injuries after crashing his motorcycle at around 9am close to the Marsa-Hamrun bypass.

The man was riding a Triumph Rocket motorcycle, lost control, hit a pavement, and crashed into a wall, police said.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment and was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that their investigations are ongoing.
