In a momentous ceremony held on 25 October, the Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri, inaugurated a bronze bust of Lawrence Camilleri, the last tenant of the iconic Xewkija Windmill. The event served as a poignant testament to Gozo's rich heritage and commemorated the indelible mark left by Lawrence Camilleri on the island's cultural landscape.

The bronze masterpiece, the work of renowned local artist Vince Caruana, was cast at the prestigious Fonderie de Cloches Cornille Havard in France, adding an international touch to the tribute. The choice of the distinguished French foundry, known for its expertise in bronze casting, underscores the significance of the occasion and the enduring legacy of Camilleri.

The Xewkija Windmill, a historic landmark in Gozo, stands as a symbolic representation of the island's agricultural and cultural heritage. Camilleri, the last individual to reside within its ancient walls, played a pivotal role in preserving and promoting Gozo's unique traditions.
