Fondazzjoni ta' Klula will hold the third Ġimgħa Stejjer of 2026 on Friday 7 August at 7.30pm in Pjazza Santa Luċija in Santa Luċija Gozo. The evening features readings by two young Maltese writers, Ħaley Xuereb and Yanika Attard. Entry is free and no booking is required.

Ġimgħa Stejjer is a quarterly literary evening organised by Fondazzjoni ta' Klula in partnership with Inizjamed. Each edition brings writers to Santa Luċija to read from their own work in front of a local audience. The summer edition is held outdoors in the village square.

Ħaley Xuereb (2006) was born in Qala. She is a law student and a court reporter, writing on the courts on one page of the newspaper and on books and poetry on another. Her writing tends towards the surreal and the strange.

Yanika Attard (2007) is a student of Maltese at the University of Malta, where she also works in support of the national language through the Għaqda tal-Malti. Her interests lie in psychological writing and in the more mysterious registers of the Absurd. Her work first appeared in the second edition of the publication Mgħawġin, and draws closely on personal experience, moving between the romantic and the melancholic.

The readings will be in Maltese.

Fondazzjoni ta' Klula is a voluntary organisation working on the heritage, culture and traditions of the village of Santa Luċija in Gozo.

Inizjamed is a voluntary organisation committed towards the regeneration of culture and artistic expression in the Maltese Islands and actively promotes a greater awareness of the cultures of the Mediterranean.
