The Malta Chamber of SMEs has launched its Black Friday campaign this year, introducing a dedicated platform, www.blackfridaymalta.eu, to promote the offers of local businesses during Black Friday.
The Chamber said that the platform provides an easy way for customers to browse through and find the offers, and customers also have the opportunity to win over 200 vouchers by registering on the website.
The initiative was inaugurated during a press conference addressed by the Minister for Inclusion, Volunteering, and Consumer Rights Julia Farrugia Portelli, and the Director of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA), Grace Stivala, together with the President of the Malta Chamber of SMEs, Paul Abela, and the CEO, Abigail Agius Mamo.
Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli emphasized the importance of good relations between businesses and consumers and highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing legislative frameworks, such as the Omnibus Directive, as well as introducing an online Tribunal. She noted that consumers have the right to withdraw from online purchases within 14 days of receiving the product.
Additionally, she emphasized that during sales events, prices must be clearly indicated, including the pre-sale price for a period of 30 days before the sale.
Paul Abela, the President of the Malta Chamber of SMEs, urged more businesses to showcase their offers on the new website, highlighting how Black Friday is a crucial month for businesses.
Abigail Mamo, the CEO of the Malta Chamber of SMEs, stated that Black Friday has become a crucial period for sales and ensured that businesses and consumers make the best use of it. She emphasized that shopping in Malta is very attractive and competitive, especially when considering that consumers often do not have to pay any shipping costs and can receive the product within a day or two. The convenience and peace of mind provided by Black Friday should be celebrated, making it an opportunity for joy and good deals.
Over 170 businesses from more than 25 different sectors are participating in this initiative. Customers have the opportunity to search for offers by category, sector, or percentage discount, with discounts available up to 70%, including free services.
Businesses can showcase their offers by creating an account on www.blackfridaymalta.eu.
