The annual concert on the occasion of the feast of Santa Cecilia, organised by the Ghaqda Nazzjonali Kazini tal-Banda, this year will be staged on Sunday, 3 December at 7pm at the Manoel Theatre, under the patronage of the President of Malta Dr George Vella. The concert will be staged by the Socjetá Filarmonika Sliema under the baton of Mro Lesley Tabone.
This year the concert will also mark the 100th anniversary since the foundation of the Socjetá Filarmonika Sliema, which is being celebrated this year.
The music compositions that will be performed are very demanding, both by local composers namely former Sliema band directors Joseph Galea and Ronnie Debattista and others in connection with this society such as Joseph Magri and Joseph Sammut as well as well-known foreign conductors such as Gustav Mahler, Lorenzo Pusceddu, Willy Hautvast, Alexander Borodin, Jacob De Han and Cardenio Botti, composer of the popular Inno Sliema with the Celebre Marcia gifted by him to this society.

Sliema - Joseph Galea; Approaching New Horizon - Ronnie Debattista; Oregon - Jacob De Haan; Prince Igor - Alexander Borodin; Op 50: L-Assedju l-Kbir ta' Malta - Joseph Sammut; Inno Sliema - Cardenio Botti and Innu Għaqda Nazzjonali Każini tal-Banda - Carmelo Caruana.
