Malta's first public obstacle course is now open at San Klement Park in Ħaż-Żabbar. The course spans over 2,700 square meters, providing OCR enthusiasts with the opportunity to practice their favourite sport in a public park.

The park is equipped with 10 diverse obstacles and associated equipment, such as climbing nets, ninja step plates, and instructional guides for each challenge. Geared towards individuals aged 13 and above, this obstacle course is accessible to all, presenting a sequence of interconnected challenges aimed at fostering physical strength, agility, coordination, and endurance.

The investment by Project Green aims to create a community space for the increasingly popular sport. To inaugurate the OCR track, Project Green joined forces with Bulletproof, offering a complimentary workshop held last Sunday.

Minister for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise Miriam Dalli expressed the Government’s commitment to expanding green spaces and optimising open areas to entice visitors of various age groups. “As OCR gains traction as a favoured sport, providing enthusiasts with a space to train freely not only encourages a healthy community but also shows how spaces can be utilized and taken care of,” the Minister said.

“We are enthusiastic to witness the transformation of this area into a space that encourages physical activity and community engagement. This is yet another way Project Green is working to attract more community engagement and give life to regenerated open spaces,” said Project Green CEO Steve Ellul.
