From now until Wednesday 13 December, the main streets in Rabat will be transformed into a Christmas Village through the 'Natalis Notabilis' event organized by a non-governmental association bearing the same name.

The inauguration of the event was carried out by the Minister for Inclusion, Volunteering, and Consumer Rights, Julia Farrugia Portelli, together with Rabat Mayor Sandro Craus, and Charlo Vassallo on behalf of the association. This marks the fifth edition of 'Natalis Notabilis.'

Portelli expressed satisfaction in support of this event, emphasizing that, in addition to the volunteering aspect, the goal behind the event is noble as it will not only contribute to raising funds for charity but also helping in preserving Malta's cultural heritage during the Christmas festivities.

"Volunteering is a national treasure that we must cherish and encourage. We believe in it even more strongly when considering that we have registered more than 1,860 volunteer organizations. Our commitment is reflected in the fact that over the past 15 years, the government has invested around €14 million in this sector, funds that have led to projects in our cities and villages to be enjoyed by their communities," said the Minister.

On his part, Craus mentioned that the Council is pleased that the Natalis Notabilis event is returning and bringing a festive atmosphere to streets that themselves are a cultural heritage.

"We are certain that the success achieved in previous editions will be repeated," said the Rabat Mayor.

Charlo Vassallo, on behalf of the organizing association, expressed his gratitude for the support received from the Ministry for Inclusion, Volunteering, and Consumer Rights, describing it as instrumental in continuing the organizational work.

After the inauguration, the Minister, accompanied by the Mayor and Vassallo, toured the festive stalls and provided information about their services for those participating in this event. The number of participants for this edition reached 80, a record number, out of which 11 were volunteer organizations.
