The man who was arrested by the police following the New Year’s Day murder in Rabat is being interrogated by the police.
The alleged aggressor has been named as Noel Azzopardi, aged 40 (right). He lives in the vicinity of the area when the murder took place.
Eric Borg (left), 27, a taxi driver, was killed on Monday afternoon in the area known as Nigret, limits of Rabat.
The man gave himself up to the police at the Rabat police station some time after the incident.
Times of Malta reports that the confession was captured on an officer's body cam.
He is set to be charged with the offence. Police have up to 48 hours since an arrest to arraignm a suspect in court.
The police said that Borg was shot at twice in Fidloqqom Street at around 3.30pm on Monday.
The two men had earlier been involved in an argument.
Magistrate Charmaine Galea is leading an inquiry.
