Action will be taken against a minor who circulated videos on social media in which sick persons and persons with disabilities were insulted, Inclusion and Voluntary Work Minister Julia Farrugia said.

In a post on Facebook, the minister said that persons with disability, leukaemia or cancer are not “jaqq” (disgusting), adding that society loves these people and supports them.

The minister said that the Commission for the Rights of Persons with a Disability was informed and that it will take the necessary steps.

If a report is filed with the police, standard procedure states the case is given to the relevant department to investigate further.
