MCAST students planning to walk out of lectures on Friday due to marks not being issued

The Institute of Business Management and Commerce (IBMC) and the Kunsill Studenti MCAST have invited students to participate in a walkout at on Friday at noon at the Paola campus and at 11.30am at the Mosta campus, as they are still awaiting the assignment of grades.

Both student representatives have informed their peers that both entities are proceeding with the protest walkout after a meeting with MCAST staff yielded unfruitful results.

The marks aren't being issued due to an ongoing directive that was instituted by the Malta Union of Teachers.

The IBMC and MCAST council are both urging the government to reach an agreement with the Malta Union of Teachers as soon as possible.

While acknowledging the challenges teachers have faced over the past two years following the expiration of their collective agreement, representatives have expressed that it is unfair to students who find themselves caught in the middle of prolonged negotiations.
