A 31-year-old man from Birkirkara was seriously injured after falling from a height of a storey in a construction site in Hamrun.

The man, who was working on the site, fell from the third storey to the second storey at around 7.30am on Wednesday.

The construction site is located on Triq il-Kbira San Ġużepp. The worker was taken to Mater Dei Hospital. A magisterial inquiry has been launched.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were also on site to assist and investigations by the police as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are ongoing.
