Minister of National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici was unable to disclose the amount invested in the Eurovision Camp held last June as he was informed by PBS that it was "Commercially sensitive" information.
Following a question made by PN MP Julie Zahra to Bonnici regarding the specific amount spent on foreign singers and composers and by what criteria were these chosen. Furthermore, she asked by what criteria were applied to the singers who wished to join the workshop and how many were invited. She continued to ask: of these singers, how many of them made it to the first 36 which were then eliminated to 12 contestants?
Bonnici said that a public call was made for 21 places in the Malta Eurovision Camp which were then judged by an international panel of judges. Bonnici added that out of the participants who applied with songs to the camp, 10 made it through to the semi-final.
