The car that was allegedly involved in a hit and run at the beginning of July has been found, the police said.

The traffic incident happened at 11:45am in Mdina Road in Birkirkara on 2 July. Police had said at the time that an e-scooter rider - a 41-year-old man from Finland - was hit by a vehicle which continued driving.

The alleged vehicle used - a white Toyota Belta - has now ben found, and damage compatible with the incident could be seen, the police said. The search for the driver is ongoing.

The victim was originally in danger of dying, but the police have said that the man's condition is better and he has been released from hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
