Pride has a great significance to the LGBTQ+ community, that it is a celebration to defend and advance progress as well as commemorating the past. For this reason, PN said that government cannot rope in party politics.

In a statement Saturday, the PN said the lack of transparency and politicization surrounding EuroPride 2023, that has recently been brought to light, leaves the party concerned, specifically with regards to management as well as the allocated budget.

Transparency is fundamental in raising faith and responsibility in the government they said. The PN expressed its solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community by urging the government to publish an exhaustive report on the budget allocated to EuroPride 2023 and confirm that all decisions taken were within the terms of procurement.

PN said it supports the LGBTQ+ community and said that they are very grateful for the various NGOs that lobbied for social equality and raised awareness on inclusive spaces in the past.
