PN welcomes extension to IVF refund scheme

Tuesday, 16 April 2024, 13:25 Last update: about 13 days ago

The Nationalist Party has welcomed the government’s announcement that the refund on IVF medicines has been extended for prospective parents who underwent IVF treatment dating back to 1 January 2023.

In a statement, PN spokesman for health Adrian Delia said that this was a proposal made by the PN during the discussions in parliament regarding the law on IVF.

The PN acknowledged the sacrifices that prospective parents must make and that is why it said that refunds must be given to those attempting the process in private clinics as well, Delia said.

Delia added that Abela’s announcement contradicts what Deputy Prime Minister, Chris Fearne, had said, that this refund was already being given. He said that finally the truth is out that Fearne’s comment wasn’t truthful.
