People deserve better than pirate politicians, Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said in reaction to the arraignment of former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and others following the conclusion of a magisterial inquiry into the hospital.

“Do not let these pirate politicians use you to keep on stealing public funds, drag Malta’s name through the mud and take our dignity,” Grech said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The people deserve better, Grech said and that the people do not deserve a government that is concerned for those who stole from them, nor a Prime Minister who such lost control that his own supporters went to protest in front of the Law Courts despite his telling them not to.

Grech said that the government is so caught up with the problems it created for itself it cannot address the people’s problems and for that reason, the people deserve politicians who are there for them without selfish interests.
