The Maltese and Gozitan people deserve an honest government which does not deceive the people, said Nationalist Party Leader Bernard Grech on Saturday.
Grech added that the people deserve a government that plans and invests in the supply of electricity, “a new government that invests wisely and can give a guarantee”.
Malta has again been hit by a spate of power cuts that last hours.
The Opposition Leader said this in a post on social media following another series of power outages in areas of Gozo and Malta. He said that after the government jammed the roads which they had just done so that what happened should never happen again, “you would have thought that everything was fixed”.
He remarked that the government had said that it then needed to spend €46 million on temporary powerstation in order to guarantee that there would not be power cuts during the summer, “but due to the lack of serious planning by the government, the summer has come, and the temporary powerstation has not arrived”.
“We have a government that does not even have the decency to honestly explain to the people what is happening,” Grech said.
He concluded by saying that the people deserve better, that the people deserve to live in a country where they have a government that plans and invests, “not a government with a mind to squander and waste money”.
