Revision classes for students preparing for September O-Level resits open

Wednesday, 15 July 2026, 13:19 Last update: about 1 hour ago

For the 13th consecutive year, applications have reopened for the free SEC Revision Classes, organised through the Youth Guarantee project and co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus.

These classes are intended for students who will be sitting the September resit examinations in Biology, English, Maltese, Mathematics, and Physics.

Since their launch in 2014, the SEC Preventive Classes have supported more than 6,600 students and have delivered positive results year after year. Through this investment, students are being provided with academic support and encouragement to continue their educational journey.

Minister Jonathan Attard described these classes as a concrete example of how the Government is continuing to invest in young people by offering them the support they need to reach their full potential.

“We believe that a single result does not define a student's potential. That is why we continue to invest in initiatives that offer a second chance, with practical support that helps more young people achieve their educational goals and continue progressing,” said Minister Attard.

The classes will begin on 22 July and will run for five weeks. Students aged between 15 and 29 who did not achieve Level 3, obtained a "U" grade, or were marked absent in any of the five subjects listed above during the May 2026 examination session are eligible to apply.

Students may attend these classes at one of the following centres: MCAST Mosta, the Msida Life Long Learning Centre, MCAST Paola, and Gozo College, Victoria (Gozo). They may choose to attend a maximum of three subjects, including one science subject (either Biology or Physics).

Students may apply online by visiting www.jobsplus.gov.mt/revisionclasses. Applications will remain open until 17 July, while late applications will be accepted until 24 July.

For further information about the SEC Revision Classes under the Youth Guarantee project, students may call 79657711, or visit the website or the Youth Guarantee Malta Facebook page.

Students should note that applying for the Revision Classes does not automatically register them for the MATSEC resit examinations. Applications for the resit examinations must be submitted separately to MATSEC.
