With every passing day, Prime Minister Robert Abela continues to confirm that he was and still is involved and is complicit in the biggest fraud to ever take place in Malta, Nationalist Party Leader Bernard Grech said on Wednesday in reaction to the court’s decree earlier that day in the Vitals case.

A court has decreed that there is enough evidence against former Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne, current Central Bank governor Edward Scicluna and a host of others for them to stand trial in connection with the Vitals hospitals concession.

The PN said that Abela’s lack of action is witness to how he is complicit in the greatest fraud the country has ever seen. “Our country needs clean leadership, and with every passing day where no action is taken, Robert Abela is further confirming that he was and still is complicit in the greatest fraud that has ever occurred in our country.”

Through a statement posted on social media, Grech said that this morning, the Courts placed Chris Fearne, Edward Scicluna, and Ronald Mizzi under indictment after it declared that there is enough proof for these three, along with eleven others, to go to trial “in connection with the biggest fraud ever in Malta”. Grech continued that Abela does not have any other road except for ensuring that Scicluna, Mizzi, and other officials who are under indictment do not continue to occupy public posts.

“Today, more than ever before, the position of Scicluna and Mizzi in their official posts is no longer tenable,” the Opposition Leader remarked. “Therefore they should be set aside immediately.”
