Central Bank of Malta Acting Governor participates in ECOFIN meetings in Hungary

The Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Alexander Demarco, participated in the informal Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN) meetings held in Budapest, Hungary, between 13 and14 September 2024.
The ECOFIN meeting, which brought together EU Central Bank Governors and EU Finance Ministers, focused on new financing opportunities in response to global challenges, as well as the sustainable financing of the green transition. During the discussions, Ministers and Central Bank Governors exchanged views on how European financial markets can support the next generation of companies, which will be crucial for creating jobs, promoting future economic growth, and addressing the pressing need for sustainability.
