Budget 2025: What's in it for you

Cost of Living Allowance is set at €5.24 per week, which the government will be taxing

All workers will see their income tax drop by up to €675 as government adjusts tax bands in a measure worth a total of €140 million.

The additional COLA mechanism will be renewed, with families getting anywhere between an extra €100 and €1,500 per year.

The children's allowance will increase by another €250 per child, the same increase as last year.

Pensions will increase by €8 per week, which is inclusive of the COLA. Pensions for those born before 1962 will also be adjusted, and around 7,500 widow pensioners will see an increase of around €3 per week in their own pensions

Hospital waiting lists will be reduced through a €14 million investment which will involve the private sector.

Severe Disability Assistance to increase by €3.49 per week, with Additional Severe Disability Assistance to increase by €7.42 per week.  The allowance for families with children with disabilities will also increase by €5 per week.

Marriage Grant to increase by €170 and is now worth €1,000 per couple.

Cheques to all workers earning less than €60,000 a year will be handed out again during 2025.  These will be worth between €60 and €140.

Property schemes such as first-time and second-time buyers, VAT refunds on restoration works on UCA properties, and the €10,000 euro grant which is spread across 10 years for first-time buyers have been extended.

Government fuel and energy subsidies will be retained for price stability, and renewable energy and water schemes will be extended.

Couples seeking IVF treatment will benefit from 100 hours of leave for each cycle, 60 for the mother, 40 for the other parent.
