Two fundraising events organised by the db Foundation have raised a whopping €47,822 to help the Ursuline Sisters build their new childcare centre.
On 8 November, db Foundation organised the music extravaganza 'Strings For Support' at the Kosy Bar at db San Antonio Hotel & Spa. Guests were treated to a range of musical performances, while getting to learn more about the work of the db Foundation and some of its beneficiaries, including the Ursuline Sisters.
The evening raised €35,362 which will go towards a significant renovation project currently underway by the Ursuline Sisters as they transform their former creche into a childcare facility.
Earlier this year, the db Foundation organised another fundraiser with the help of three Masterchef Malta finalists who turned the St Paul's Bay restaurant LOA into their kitchen for the evening. They served guests a carefully-curated menu of delicious dishes. The event, which attracted some 150 patrons, raised €12,460 for the Ursuline Sisters.
db Group sponsored all the costs for both events with every cent raised from patrons going to the worthy cause.
Sandra Sladden, chairperson of the db Foundation, said: "Our mission is to create meaningful change in the lives of those in need. The Ursuline Sisters provide invaluable care to children and we are proud to support their efforts through a tangible and substantial contribution. The most rewarding aspect is that we are doing all this with the involvement of the wider community. We are so grateful to everybody who is participating in these events and helping to make a difference in the lives of others."
The db Foundation's board is made up of fashion designer Luke Azzopardi, doctor and singer Gianluca Bezzina, db Group director Alan Debono, and Dr Sladden as chairperson.
