A crane in Victoria, Gozo is being dismantled as a safety precaution after being seen swaying from the strong winds on Friday evening, at around 5pm.

The police told this newsroom that the members of the police force have evacuated the area around the crane, near the Arkadia Commercial Centre in Triq Fortunato Mizzi, in case of a collapse.

Two cranes have been deployed to stabilise the oscillating structure, police confirmed. Winds in the area have been blowing at the crane from the north, north-west, and west-northwest directions at Force 5 to 6.
