A total of 45 concerts will be benefitting from the Rock'N Malta fund during the year 2025, Minister for National Heritage, the Arts, and Local Government Owen Bonnici said on Friday.

The Ministry said that this fund, which it added is administered by Festivals Malta, incentivises organisers, promoters, artists, and local bands to invest in rock music by offering monetary aid, as well as guidance on a logistical level, marketing, and more.

It added that this year the fund will have a record investment of €1 million, with the aim of benefitting more artists.

Bonnici commented that Rock'N Malta is continuing to gain popularity, with Festivals Malta having received a record number of submissions this year. He said that the fund has been increased to €1 million so that more artists can benefit from it, and continued that this will lead to 45 projects being done with the participation of around 700 local and international artists. He added that this investment will give more opportunities to new talents, strengthen the collaboration between different artists, and continue to strengthen interest in live music, "thus continuing to enrich our culture".

Festivals Malta Chairman Aaron Zahra spoke of the importance of the fund and the aim of continuing to help the development of the local product. "Through Rock'N Malta, Festivals Malta is continuing to invest in the local product, in particular rock music concerts and its subgenres. We do this not only so that the Maltese people continue to enjoy concerts of the highest quality, but also to continue attracting visitors to our country for these concerts. This year there was great interest in this fund and we look forward to seeing these events being staged successfully over the coming months," Zahra said.

Festivals Malta CEO Frans Agius said that Rock'N Malta is strengthening its importance in the Festivals Malta portfolio every year. "Through this fund, the Festivals Malta team will be able to offer its assistance and experience both in terms of logistics, marketing aspects, and in various other areas, so that we can continue to strengthen the level of the events held in our country."

The Ministry said that the concerts which will benefit from the Rock'N Malta fund this year will be staged between February and December 2025.
