The Building and Construction Authority and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority stopped work at a construction site in Mosta after the roof of a residential building next door to it collapsed.

The two entities said in a statement that they were investigating “a roof collapse that occurred at a residential property adjacent to an active construction site on Hope Street, Mosta.”

The authorities said that no injuries were reported.

“In response to this incident, both authorities have issued a stop work order for the construction site until a thorough assessment of safety measures and compliance with relevant laws and regulations is completed,” they said.
