A British man was injured in a fight in a Paceville apartment.

At around five o'clock on Sunday morning, the police were informed that a person had suffered injuries during an argument that took place in Triq Spinola, St Julian's.

The police went to the scene, where in an apartment on the mentioned street, they found three men who alleged they had been attacked by another three men with a sharp and pointed weapon to rob them, and then fled the scene.

A medical team arrived shortly after, and one of the men, a 22-year-old Englishman, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified as suffering from grievous injuries. The other two individuals, who are also English, were not injured.

The police are continuing their investigations in order to identify those involved in this case, while Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici has appointed an inquiry into the incident.
