Chelsea, Milan and Bayer Leverkusen will be taking part in the 2025 VisitMalta Weekender, the Malta Tourism Authority announced Tuesday.
Taking place at Stamford Bridge on Friday 8 and Sunday 10 August, the fixtures give fans the chance to see the squads in action as they complete preparations ahead of the start of the 2025/26 season.
Bundesliga runners-up Bayer Leverkusen kick the weekend off when they take on the Blues on the Friday evening, in a 7pm kick-off at The Bridge. Newly appointed head coach Erik Ten Hag brings his side to London following a summer tour to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The tournament will conclude in SW6 when the men's team face the Rossoneri on Sunday 10 August at 3pm.
The Italian giants welcomed back Massimiliano Allegri as their head coach this summer, 11 years on from his last time at the club, and will complete their pre-season preparations in London following matches in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Perth, Western Australia.
The two fixtures follow on from the club's participation in this summer's FIFA Club World Cup, where the team will face Los Angeles Football Club, Flamengo and Esperance Sportive de Tunis in Group D of its Group Stage.
"VisitMalta is pleased to host the VisitMalta Cup Weekender at Stamford Bridge, partnering with three top football clubs and renowned international brands for innovative marketing and promotion of the Maltese Islands as a foremost tourism destination at the heart of the Mediterranean," said Carlo Micallef, Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Tourism Authority.
Todd Kline, President of Commercial for Chelsea Football Club, said: "We look forward to bringing the 2025 VisitMalta Weekender to Stamford Bridge this summer as we make final preparations for the 2025/26 season. Hosting AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen provides a high level of competition for the players as they complete their pre-season preparations and the opportunity for the club to roll-out digital ticketing across the stadium."
