The police found five shops in St Julian's selling alcoholic beverages after 9:00 PM.

During the past weekend, the Police Force continued its efforts within communities, particularly in entertainment areas such as St Julian's, Paceville, Swieqi, Pembroke, and San Ġwann.

The work aimed, among other things, to ensure that shops are operating in compliance with the law that prohibits the sale of alcoholic drinks from supermarkets and grocery stores after 9:00 PM.

During these inspections, the Police found five shops in St Julian's selling alcoholic beverages after 9:00 PM, and therefore, they were informed that charges will be filed against them.

In a separate case, a restaurant was found to be operating without a responsible person present on site, as required by law, and as a result, this establishment was immediately closed by the Police.

Other inspections were carried out in the same localities related to noise disturbances and breaches of public peace, illegal parking, dangerous driving, loud music, littering, and the sale of illegal substances.

These efforts form part of ongoing regular inspections being conducted in various areas around Malta and will continue to be strengthened in the coming weeks and months.
