Sea-sprayed adventures this August with Heritage Malta

Sunday, 3 August 2025, 08:10 Last update: about 13 months ago

Following the resounding success of its two Filfla-harbour cruises earlier this summer, one under the stars and one in full daylight, Heritage Malta is setting sail once more with two captivating events this August, promising unforgettable views and stories from sea to shore.

Yesterday, an evening cruise took participants past the majestic Ta' Ċenċ Cliffs in Gozo and the world-famous Blue Lagoon of Comino. This five-hour voyage offered a chance to unwind whilst discovering dramatic coastlines, protected nature reserves, and rich seabird habitats, all as the sun diped below the horizon.

On Sunday 17 August, the Filfla-Grand Harbour day cruise departs from Sliema Ferries at 10am for a full day of discovery along Malta's southern coast. The voyage takes in the mysterious islet of Filfla, once a corsair hideout and bombing target, now a wildlife sanctuary, before turning to the historical Grand Harbour - a natural fortress steeped in millennia of history. Along the way, the boat will pause in the crystal waters of Il-Ħofriet, offering its passengers the chance to take a refreshing swim before returning to Sliema by 5pm. Snacks and drinks will be available on board throughout the journey.
