The quiet poetry of Malta's towns and villages will take centre stage this September in Silent Narratives, a solo exhibition by artist Kevin Sciberras. Opening on Friday, 5 September at 7pm, the event will be hosted at Art by the Seaside Gallery, 65 Triq il-Mina tax-Xatt, Senglea.

The exhibition presents 20 acrylic works that meditate on the architectural and urban character of Malta and Gozo. From intimate views of townhouses to sweeping aerial perspectives, Sciberras captures rooftops, facades, and streetscapes with a precision that is as evocative as it is detailed.

Notably absent from these scenes are human figures. Instead, the paintings invite viewers into a contemplative space where the architecture itself becomes the storyteller. The result is a body of work that resonates with the historical and cultural layers embedded in Malta's built environment.

"I aim to illuminate the silent dialogue between stone and sky, shadow and sunlit wall, the past and the evolving present," says Sciberras. Each canvas offers both a visual archive and a poetic reflection, encouraging the audience to see familiar surroundings through a meditative lens.

Guests on opening night will have the opportunity to meet the artist, enjoy a drink among friends, and immerse themselves in the stillness and beauty of Silent Narratives.
