The Labour Party this evening published what it said were documents showing PN MP Rebekah Borg had voted in favour of a development at Mellieha Heights.

The PL said Borg had issued a statement "seeking to deceive the people and saying that she never voted in favour of development in Mellieha Heights".

But official minutes of the Lands Authority published in the report issued on August 14 by the Commissioner for Standards in Public Life (clearly show that Borg was present and voted in favour of the proposal in question.

The documents confirm that Borg was present - unlike what the PN is claiming - and the board voted in favour on both occasions, the PL said.

This is another attempt to distort the facts to give the public a false impression, the PL said. "It is really incredible when the facts are clear and official documents, the Nationalist Party comes up with a statement full of lies, when it knows that it will be caught. It is the Nationalist Party that is fake and spreading incorrect information in relation to this case, which has tried to blame it on others," the PL said.
