The Dock Music Festival is set to return on Saturday, 20 September 2025, at Dock No. 1 in Bormla. The free open-air concert will feature performances by local and international talent, including the Drop Out Band, Fabrizio Faniello, Petra Zammit and tribute artist Roy in the Legend.

The event was announced by Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli , Chairman of Cottonera Joe Mizzi, and Mayor of Bormla Marco Agius. It will be staged against the backdrop of recently restored historic architecture along the waterfront, which organisers said provides a fitting setting for an evening of popular music.

Parliamentary Secretary Zerafa Civelli said the festival will offer a memorable night by the sea, highlighting both local and international talent. She stressed that the event reflects the government’s commitment to support the Cottonera Foundation in creating opportunities for cultural activity within the community.

Cottonera Foundation Chairman Joe Mizzi noted that Dock Music Festival has become a staple in the area’s cultural calendar, helping to foster a sense of community while also attracting visitors from outside the region “This year marks the fourth edition of Dock Music, and it will be bigger than ever. Our aim is to organise an enjoyable evening for all ages while showcasing one of Malta’s most historic spaces, Dock No. 1,” he said.

Bormla Mayor Marco Agius added that the city is increasingly becoming a hub for major events, with Dock Music joining others such as the annual New Year’s Eve celebrations. He described Dock No. 1, built in 1848, as a unique open space that merges maritime heritage with centuries-old architecture, making it an ideal venue for large-scale cultural gatherings.

The festival will begin at 7:30pm and is being organised by the Cottonera Foundation in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Government, the Malta Tourism Authority, the Bormla Local Council, Palumbo Shipyard, Port Logistics Operations and the American University of Malta.
