The Labour Party noted with satisfaction that its policies in favour of families are so good and positive that the Nationalist Party is now making them its own.
The Nationalist Party tried to give the impression that it came up with some new proposal on how parents should be encouraged to have more children, while today we had PN leader Alex Borg making a copy paste of a proposal that Minister Clyde Caruana made in mid-February this year in Parliament, the PL said.
Minister Caruana had proposed that the Government creates a new tax rate for parents who have a second child. This is to encourage parents to have more children, with the Government helping them financially to make this choice, the PL said.
In addition to copying Government proposals, the Nationalist Party and its Leader are saying they will introduce support schemes to families that the Government has introduced for years, including the 10% deposit scheme and the housing equity sharing scheme. Another example is the affordable housing projects that have already started in the country and which the Nationalist Leader boasts that he will introduce.
The Labour Government policies in favour of families are not only very well received by Gozitan and Maltese families, but now also by the Nationalist Party, which is making a copy paste of the proposals and measures of a Labour Government, the PL said.
