An elderly man was seriously injured after falling from a height.

At around 9am on Monday, the Police were informed that a person had fallen in a field in Triq l-Għadira, Kerċem.

From the investigations carried out, it resulted that a 73-year-old man, resident in Kerċem itself, slipped while walking in a field and consequently fell from a height of about nine feet into another field.

A medical team, as well as members of the Civil Protection Department, assisted the man, who was taken to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance. Later, he was certified as having suffered serious injuries.

 Magistrate Brigitte Sultana was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry, while Police investigations are still ongoing.
