Two generations of artistic conversation

Sunday, 2 November 2025, 09:00 Last update: about 10 months ago

The George Fenech Art Museum and Gallery is proud to present Father and Son: A Dialogue in Line and Colour, an exhibition showcasing the works of Alfred Caruana Ruggier and his son, John Michael Caruana. Running throughout this month, the exhibition brings together two generations of artistic practice in a conversation that is at once creative, intellectual, and personal.

Through this exhibition, visitors will experience how father and son engage in dialogue across canvas and paper, responding to each other with both sentiment and thought. Their works demonstrate how creativity is shaped within family, nurtured within the classroom, and eventually finds its place in the wider world of art.

The museum hopes this exhibition will encourage art teachers and students alike to share their own work more openly. The story of Alfred and John reminds us that creativity need not remain hidden, but can step forward with confidence to engage in dialogue with broader artistic currents.
