The Labour Party said Friday that the Nationalist Party's claim that €400 million had been lost in the three hospitals' deal had been disproved by the International Chamber of Commerce ruling.
It was certified through the final decision of the International Arbitration Tribunal that the government obtained fair value for the services provided, the PL said.
The Nationalist Party also deceived the public when it claimed that the Government paid for infrastructural improvements that Steward was meant to carry out, when in fact the government only paid for the benefits it actually received - benefits from which many Maltese and Gozitan patients profited, the PL said.
The final decision clearly demonstrates how the Government, through both local and international legal representation, strongly defended the national interest, the PL argued.
In contrast, the Opposition and Adrian Delia not only lied, but the final decision reveals that by the way Delia filed the case in the Maltese courts, he deprived the Maltese state of the opportunity to seek damages, the PL claimed.
