Two men and a woman who were allegedly operating a drug trafficking ring were arrested on Friday morning after days of surveillance, the police said Saturday.

In a raid carried out by the Police at a residence in San Ġwann, from where drugs were allegedly being prepared, a 40-year-old man was arrested.

A search of the premises led to the discovery of around 300 grams of cocaine, divided into several small packets indicating that they were being prepared for sale, as well as other items related to drug preparation and trafficking. The value of the drugs found amounts to just over €20,000, the police said.

Meanwhile, shortly before the raid, a 41-year-old woman left the same residence and was arrested in Marsa.

At the same time, the Police arrested another man, aged 32, in Bormla, who investigations revealed was allegedly distributing the drugs that had been prepared in San Ġwann. A search of his residence in Valletta led to the discovery of about €6,000 in cash, as well as a quantity of jewelry.

Another search was carried out in a garage in San Ġwann, where the police seized two vehicles - a Mercedes and a Porsche Cayenne - as part of the ongoing investigations.

Magistrate Dr. Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed of the case and is leading an inquiry.
