The Nationalist Party and its media arm have been ordered by the Speaker of the House to amend statements and issue corrections regarding coverage of what was said by Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri in parliament regarding a police raid which took place in the locality of Swieqi on Tuesday.

Minister Camilleri requested that Speaker Anglu Farrugia verify what Camilleri had said while speaking in parliament, and to guide parliament with regard to a statement issued by the PN on Wednesday, which Camilleri commented had contents which were not true.

Referring to the PN statement in question, Farrugia said that the PN stated that Camilleri had "blamed the magistrate", and that NET had reported that comments made by Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa regarding the raid had "clearly contradicted the information given by Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri in parliament".

The Speaker said that it seems clear that Camilleri did not blame the magistrate at any time.

Farrugia stated that PN and NET are to make reference to what was exactly said by Camilleri. Farrugia continued that after examining all the relevant documents and reviewing what was said by Camilleri in parliament, it was found that the Minister did not blame the magistrate at any time. Farrugia added that Camilleri had been reading a statement issued by Gafa.
