The Embassy of France in Malta and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Balluta, will once again present French Harmonies for Advent, an organ recital by Maltese organist John Aquilina.

The concert will take place on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at 4.30pm at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Balluta. Entrance is free, with a retiring collection in aid of the church at the end of the recital.

The programme will feature French Classical and Romantic seasonal organ music, including works by Daquin, Balbastre, Lebègue, Couperin, Galea, Dubois, and Boëllmann. The repertoire includes Dubois's Toccata, Boëllmann's Suite gothique, and Galea's Sinfonia Pastorale. The neo-gothic church, with its warm acoustics and fine pipe organ, provides an ideal setting for this music.

John Aquilina, one of Malta's leading organists, served as chief organist at Mdina Cathedral between 2001 and 2017. He currently directs music at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Balluta, and has performed both in Malta and at renowned European festivals.
