The Malta Co-operative Federation (MCF) has officially inaugurated The Co-operative Hub in St Anthony Street, Birkirkara. This new space has been specifically designed to provide a welcoming environment where people can meet, share ideas, and cooperate together.

The Hub will serve as a cornerstone for the Federation's mission, enabling its work in assisting with fresh ideas and supporting the establishment of new co-operatives across diverse sectors of the Maltese economy.

The premises were inaugurated by Dame Pauline Green, former President of the International Co-operative Alliance, and Bob Burlton, former Chair of Co-operatives UK. The ceremony was held in the presence of the MCF's Council, member co-operators, and friends of the Federation.

During the event, attendees were addressed by Claudio Farrugia, CEO of MCF, Rolan Micallef Attard, Secretary General, and John Mallia, President.

Claudio Farrugia expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to making this endeavour possible, whilst Rolan Micallef Attard reflected on the evolution and resilience of the Federation since its founding in 2012. John Mallia emphasised the Hub's role as an important tool in supporting MCF's members while inspiring the creation of new co-operatives in different sectors of the Maltese economy.

Both Dame Green and Mr Burlton highlighted the growing importance of the co-operative business model in today's changing world. They commended the establishment of The Co-operative Hub as a significant step forward, auguring that it will strengthen the Federation's efforts in promoting co-operation and innovation in Malta.
