Butterfly: Damian Ebejer’s 20th solo exhibition

Sunday, 7 December 2025, 08:30 Last update: about 9 months ago

Damian Ebejer is an artist living and working in Malta. He held his first solo exhibition in 1994 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta. He has since held nineteen solo exhibitions; the most recent in September 2022 entitled Paradox. He is more renowned for his abstract expressionist works which were primarily displayed during his A Tale of Consequent Parallels exhibition in 2007. Damian is also a muralist and his work can be found in several palazzos and private residences in Malta and abroad.

In this solo exhibition entitled Butterfly, Damian will be hanging recent works created over the past two years 2023-2025. These paintings have never been exhibited in a public venue. The idea for the title Butterfly came to the artist due to his tendency to explore various approaches and subject matter for his work; similar to how a butterfly 'hops' from one flower or plant to another, never dwelling too long in one particular place. There does not exist a static concept in thought for this exhibition, only ideas and memories that inspired him over time. Some ideas remained and Damian developed them on canvas; other ideas were put away forever or kept to contemplate upon later.

Visitors will also be able to find a number of selected Limited Edition prints of Damian's latest works available at the venue.

This exhibition will be held at the Tal-Ghaqba Culture Mill in Naxxar. Visitors can view the artworks of Damian Ebejer's Butterfly solo exhibition until the 21 December. Opening times are Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm and 4 to 7pm. Saturday, Sunday and Feast days between 11am-6pm or by appointment 9980 1721.
