Friday evening marked the official opening of the fifth edition of Christmas in the Park, at the Salina National Park in St Paul's Bay.

This year, the popular Christmas-time event is being organised with new attractions and a calendar packed with activities and local artists. During the opening, the Minister for the Environment and Energy, Dr Miriam Dalli, encouraged families, youth, and the elderly to visit the attractions and enjoy the newly prepared experiences.

These changes are designed to enhance the visitor experience while promoting the importance of environmental sustainability.

"Public events like Christmas in the Park continue to bring people together to enjoy the open spaces while learning more about sustainability. We encourage families to join us at the Salina National Park to explore sustainable practices while spending quality time with their loved ones. In the coming months, we will continue working to create more public spaces for everyone while strengthening our commitment to environmental protection," said Minister Miriam Dalli.

Visitors and children can meet Santa Claus, experience virtual reality, play games, make crafts, and enjoy traditional Christmas drinks, food, and sweets. There will also be entertainment on the main stage featuring various local artists.

The illuminated walkway will be more spectacular than ever, with lit trees, large light animal structures, and details that create a truly magical atmosphere.

Aside from entertainment, visitors can also find several information stands from entities such as Saving Our Blue, the Directorate for Sustainable Development, Ambjent Malta, the Environment and Resources Authority, Circular Economy Malta, the Energy and Water Agency, Project Green, Wasteserv, the Water Services Corporation, the Public Cleaning and Maintenance Division, and the Regulator for Energy and Water Services. Through educational activities and games, these entities continue to spread the message of environmental protection and sustainability.

Christmas in the Park is open until 21 December. Opening hours during weekdays are from 5pm to 9pm, while on weekends and public holidays, it will be open from 12:30pm to 9pm.
