A 72-year-old woman was taken to Mater Dei Hospital at around 7.30am after being involved in an accident in Triq Ħal Luqa, Paola.
Preliminary investigations found that the woman was struck by a Nissan Micra, which was being driven by a 26-year-old woman.
The elderly woman was given assistance by a medical team, taken to hospital by ambulance, and was certified as having suffered grievous injuries.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
