Dr Fessenden Brauer is an American psychologist and professor. She has taught at the American University in Cairo and as a Fullbright Scholar at Cairo University Medical School. She worked in a variety of national and international situations with delinquent adolescents, the terminally ill, orphans, children living in war zones, and with people of all ages in the US, Egypt and Palestine. She has published poetry as well as articles in English and Arabic about loss and grief, paediatric and parental cancer, trauma, war and conflict, bullying and child abuse. Several of her books for and about children have been published in Arabic and English, and she has recently self-published two dual-language picture books (English and Bahasa Indonesian) for young Indonesian readers.
