Karamellu tar-Raħal t'Isfel (Animated Series) was declared the winner of the Intellectual Property for Creative Initiative Award of the Malta Intellectual Property Awards 2025, organised by the Commerce Department, which is part of the Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects.

The Award was presented to Mr. Neil Zammit CEO and Chief Animation Director of Toontuloon Animated Studio, who produced the animated series, and to Mr. Charles Buttigieg, author.

The Malta Intellectual Property Awards are aimed at promoting the creation of Intellectual Property in Malta and recognizes both innovative projects originating from people who are fairly new in their field and of those made by people of experience in the creative, scientific and technological sector.

The Award for Creative Initiative rewards works by individuals or enterprises operating in the cultural and creative sphere.

The Awards were presented by  the Hon. Silvio Schembri, Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects.

This year, almost €50,000 were distributed in prizes to the winners and runners-up of the four categories of the Award: Creative Initiative, Scientific Initiative, Technological Initiative, and Award for emerging Innovation Initiative.

"It is gratifying that for this edition we had a high-level of projects," declared the organisers.
