Prime Minister Robert Abela visited Gozo-based company "Gozo Graphics" on Friday, and praised its initiative to set up a private fund worth €100,000 to directly assist innovative projects within the private sector and help start-ups get their prototypes onto production lines.

This company specialises in large format digital printing, sign manufacturing, and the provision of products and solutions related to architectural applications. It also offers 3D printing, machining and scanning services.

The Prime Minister said that private projects such as this private €100,000 fund contribute directly to have a more diversified and value-added economy. Abela added that this project is also empowering the creation of more new working opportunities for youths and professionals in Gozo.

Abela stressed the importance of quality careers that continue being created across the country. He also observed how initiatives that strengthen industrial capacities can help our country attract quality investment to remain an attractive destination and retain local talent.

The Prime Minister added that, through various public entities, including Malta Enterprise, the Maltese Government is offering support so that companies like these can continue advancing and can continue to invest in innovative equipment and other areas.

PM Abela expressed satisfaction that the private sector continues to adapt and align itself more with the industries of tomorrow. In this regard, he mentioned how Malta Vision 2050 - which will be announced in the coming weeks - will continue to prioritise sectors that add value to our economy, while also supporting those sectors that are deemed a priority for our country.

During this visit, the Prime Minister met with the company's employees and the team that manages Area 51 - an industrial facility designed by Gozo Graphics that helps Maltese start-ups have the same opportunities as European ones working in hardware sectors. This facility features technological infrastructure designed for precision manufacturing and large-scale prototyping, including monolithic additive printing, as well as CNC machining equipment and industrial laser systems for metalworking, among others.
