Health authorities have issued warnings about 11 infant formulas, with parents warned to check batches they have for potential contamination.
The recalls and warnings impact various batches of formula manufactured by Cow & Gate, Aptamil and Bebelac, the Food Safety Authority said.
All the impacted batches may contain a toxin called cereulide that can cause food poisoning symptoms such as vomiting, nausea and stomach cramps. Cereulide is highly heat stable, meaning it can survive being in boiling water.
"Consumers are advised not to consume the implicated products and either dispose of it or return it to the store from which it was purchased," health authorities said.
