International Tourist Guides' Day is celebrated worldwide each year on 21 February. In Malta, the occasion will be marked with a series of guided walking tours in Valletta organised by the Malta Union of Tourist Guides (MUTG), with all proceeds going to charity.

The one-hour tours will be led by licensed tourist guides who are volunteering their time for the event. Tours will be conducted in both English and Maltese. Participants are invited to make a donation of €10 for adults and €5 for children.

Funds raised this year will support the Order of St John in financing pilgrimages to Lourdes. Each tour will conclude with a brief visit inside the hall of St John's Cavalier, now serving as the Embassy of the Order.

The event will take place on Saturday 21 February, with tours running hourly from 11am until 4pm. Participants are asked to gather at the entrance to Valletta, where an MUTG stand will be set up.

Advance bookings may be made by emailing [email protected], although members of the public may also attend on the day. Donations can be made via Revolut on 79462111 (please specify "Donation SMOM"), or given in person on the day. Receipts will be issued.

Those unable to attend but wishing to contribute are encouraged to make a donation in support of the cause.
